Mr. Spencer served as President and Board member of Coastal Oil & Gas Corporation, the worldwide exploration and production (E&P) subsidiary of The Coastal Corp., which was ultimately sold to El Paso Corp. for $8 billion. Earlier during his career with Coastal, Mr. Spencer held positions as Senior Vice President and Vice President of E&P operations worldwide and General Manager of regional E&P operations.
For nine years, Mr. Spencer was the exclusive business consultant to the Chief Executive Officer of The Houston Exploration Company (NYSE: THX). Mr. Spencer holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas, at Austin. He is a registered professional engineer in Petroleum Engineering in the State of Texas and holds memberships in various professional organizations.
